Beautifying our city has many benefits, and there are lots of ways to do it. In many communities, the maintenance, beautification, and public safety commissions are consolidated - or at least working on joint projects. Beautiful streets encourage slower traffic and get neighbors outside, increasing the chances for community interaction. Beautiful streets are safer, too. Beautiful streets are... just pleasant.
Fayetteville has made a lot of progress making our town look better. I'm on the America in Bloom committee, and for the past several years we have been receiving national and international recognition for having such a pretty town. It has been an asset for us, and we have the 2025 and Downtown Master Plans to thank.
I support the changes and goals of those Plans, and I am dedicated to seeing those visions implemented in ways that preserve our neighborhood character and cultural heritage. The College Ave improvements are going to be amazing, and I want to expand that work, so it stretches from North St to Sixth St. Fixing College Ave is an important step in improving the walkability of Fayetteville and reconnecting our neighborhoods.
